Wonder is a moving sad story about a little boy and a new place. A regular school. Auggie was born with a facial distortion and had been homeschooled. When he is welcomed to school by Julian, Charlotte and Jack Will, he feels safe, and he meets Summer, a sprightly girl who cheers his life up. But how will he feel when his other friends start bullying him because of how he looks? And his sister avoids bringing him to her new school because she thought people would see him as weird? Plays, Retreats, middle school wars... What will Auggie do? I liked how it altered between perspectives in the book because it was like I was there with each character. I didn't like that it acted like fifth graders are little kids because they're not.
