The actual story was OK BUT they killed the Dog. I don't get the characters at all. The women are portrayed as both controlling b****** who rule their men and pathetic women who can't manage to drive a manual car or shoot a gun. The author is clearly confused about what women are capable of and their motivations. The book is also full of racism which he attempts to contradict by having the main character befriend a Hispanic man. The main character is apparently an ex-marine and thus apparently the most intelligent, skilled and superior being in the book. I am sure there are some fantastic marines out there but just being a marine certainly doesn't make someone bulletproof or superior to all others. Generally, a confusing mess where the characters contradicted themselves over and over.
