It is the total number that is needed unless otherwise specified. Each teammate needs to read a book for the task or use their pass.

For a task where the qualification requires a rating of 4 stars by another player, if the player amended their rating in their review (ie 3.5 stars but rounded up) would it still count? (I hope this makes sense)

From the Q&A in message #15 of this thread.

Q: What are the rules if the book is so bad you can’t finish it?
A: I will accept DNFs if you read to the minimum page count of this challenge (150 p.) AND 70% of the book. Books need to be a minimum of 250 pages using the first edition Kindle page count. You must also state that the book is a DNF and explain why in your completion, including the page number you finished on as well. The page you finished on would be the number counted for tasks that ask the team to read a certain number of pages.

Drawn cover works as long as it clearly shows the face and whether or not there is facial hair.

If a task calls for reading a book of one particular color and the group chose blue, would this be enough blue? Tineye only calls it 37.8% so I figured I'd ask.
