Is Chase redeemable?

Chase sucks

Nope, I'm sorry. I know he's a teenager but he's old enough to know right from wrong. he was a coward in the beginning which I can understand but the way he took advantage of the situation and the way he took advantage of Ari was problematic. it showed that he didn't care who he was hurting, even if it was her, so long as he got what he wanted. Please note that Noah is also young, and instead, he adapted the mindset of " I love her and if loving her means losing her then so be it".

Where as. Chase was forcing something that had not been for quite some time. the sorry a$$ apology that followed was even more tragic. it was dishonest, ingenuine and gross. so no. hes not redeemable.

I couldn't find him redeemable - what he did disgusted me to the point I remember standing up, stomping around and yelling I hate that guy! I had to really verbally use some choice words before I was ready to dive back in. No bacon for that guy.

Personally, I think so. He was a huge coward in the beginning and super selfish at the end, but he's also a teenager and I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to know exactly what he wants and how to communicate it appropriately. The way I read it, he probably had feelings for Ari growing for a long time and was curious about being with her but not sure enough to be willing to take the huge leap that actually being with her would require. Seeing her move on made him realize that he had subconsciously expected her to wait around until he was ready, which is kind of annoying and cliche but not irredeemable.

His actions after her coma were super selfish, but you can kind of empathize with him. She woke up and was still in love with him and wanted to be with him, and didn't want anyone to tell her anything about the months she had forgotten. It would be really hard not to be with her when she wanted him around, and while he definitely took advantage to treat it like a second chance she didn't choose to give him, he also was pretty respectful and understanding imo. He didn't try to push her emotionally or physically, he gave her space when she needed it. And in the end I felt like he really understood why it was wrong and was genuinely remorseful.

I think one of the things this book really didn't do well was not really showing the history between Chase and Ari and giving very little Chase POV. It makes it hard to understand his motivations and how he was feeling, but the whole situation would have been really hard and heartbreaking for him too if you can put yourself in his shoes.

That's going to be a no for me. I don't like how he took advantage of blocking out the past and tried to slide back in. It's dishonest and gross.

I say no what he did was awful and I literally can't I liked him and thought he would be but then he just kept doing stuff that made me just want to throw the book and I literally screamed at the book at him as if he could here me

Maybe but he only showed his "true" feeling when she wasn't interested in him anymore. Like Noah said nothing makes a man admit his feeling then the interest of another man. Chase didn't see Ari till she no longer saw him. I wouldn't mind reading a book about him but Mason (hopefully with Payton), Brady & Cameron should get their books first. He deserves to be the last to find happiness
