Additional Group Read for March/April?

Infinite Jest kicks off next week, and it's long and intimidating and possibly difficult to acquire on such short notice. So that got me thinking....

What are your thoughts on have at least two group reads going on simultaneously? That way if you don't like one of the books you could try the other, or you could read them both! We could choose two books from the same list or read from different lists (as many books will overlap).

Also, anyone in favor of adding buddy reads as well that can be set up any time between two or more people?

YES! that's a good idea, indeed. Maybe we can have two lists simultaneously, one book from each, one heavy and one light. That way we will have more activity.

I like the idea of having more than one book. Bigger books will definitely take longer to read, and there will be some people who won't join in because they're not interested in reading a big book, or just don't have the time or whatever. Having options is always good so more people can participate and be active. :)

OK, two polls have been added for April group reads. One poll for the TIME list and one for the NPR list (there's a lot of overlap).

Also, a new thread for buddy reads has been added. If you all want to start a new book with members of the group outside of Infinite Jest, let us know what you're reading and when you want to start. I'll add new threads for buddy reads as they start.

Oh dear....

I hate to file a grievance already Justin... But there are a lot of books on those two polls that I want to read.

April is a really busy month for me with school and stuff. If the books I nominated win and I don't have time to read them I'm going to be really disappointed.

In the future, if you could pick some terrible books, it would really help me focus on school.
