I'm reading a couple of longer books now - 11/22/63 (600+) The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois (600+) orange!and The Dark Forest (500-600)
The last one has an author with an x in his name, so maybe that'll come up again!
posting for the start of this new page
Update
Page Towers
We have completed the 200-299 and 300-399 range :)
It is those bigger books that will likely be tough again this month if you have any to pull out of the archives!
Chipmunks
If possible, let's fill these tasks with 200-399 page books as we have already completed those categories. The other categories we still need to fill the base tower this month. For extra points for those bigger books though, you can choose one with a lovely coloured cover!

6. Read a booker award winner (Louise is reading one)
16. Read an international booker award winner (note: different to “normal” booker award - captains group ruling has opened this task only to nominees also: https://www.goodreads.com/award/show/...) (Nistha is reading one)
24. Read a book with a creature with 10 limbs on the cover (e.g. lobster, shrimp, crab) (Amy the book-bat)
32. Read a book set in, or by an author from China
33. Read a book set in, or by an author from Malaysia
34. Read a book written by Nobel winner (can be any Nobel winner, not just literature)
41. Read a book set in, or by an author from South Korea
42. Read book from the GR "Best of 2021" list (see https://www.goodreads.com/list/best_o...)
43. Read a book with a character who works in STEM career (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
44. Read a book where the title starts with X
Rainbows
We have completed 8 which is awesome! We have another 6 underway - blue and black seem to be the easiest to get, so other colours are appreciated!
If anyone reads the Sue Grafton novels, there is one titled XIt is #24 in the series, but I believe you could read it as a standalone if you wanted to. I read it recently, so I don't think I can reread it yet.
Do we still need a "Y" book for the spell-outs? That is the last one I need to read to complete that series. And I think it has a green cover?
I put in a couple library requests for books by Nobel winning authors. Hopefully I can get them quickly and complete that task.
Question: I have a book set in Hong Kong (which is now part of China - just not Chinese mainland), would this work for set in China? or does it need to be Chinese Mainland?
Amy the book-bat wrote: "If anyone reads the Sue Grafton novels, there is one titled XIt is #24 in the series, but I believe you could read it as a standalone if you wanted to. I read it recently, so I do..."
OK, I will grab that!
Karen ⊰✿ wrote: "43. Read a book with a character who works in STEM career (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)"I just entered
which fits this one

which is on this list
New TasksX-Rays - Read a book that gets under the skin of something (be creative - a psychological thriller, a non-fiction investigation)
X-Files - Read a book with someone who works in an admin role

I read The Last Word this month - it is about how an author stalks his 1 star reviewer who is living in an isolated setting. It is more mystery thriller (but tagged psychological thriller 18 times also - it is a new book so does not have as much ratings yet). I would say he does get under her skin by continuously asking her to take the review down and stalking her, but defer to you if this fits the task.
I’m reading two 600+ books atm and will definitely finish at least one of them by the end of the month.
Finished The Daughter of Doctor Moreau here are links to BOM duscussionDay 1 https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Can fit parent child relationship.
I couldn't mark my last book as read, or put it on the shelf yet.Goodreads says page not found for any book I go to. So I'll try again later.
I'm a little confused. I think I added 3-4 books I planned to read on the BOOKS tab but they're gone. Are we not doing regular books now? I got lost somehow.
New Tasks"10 Commandments - ""Honour your parents"" - Read a book featuring a parent - child relationship (can be adult child too)"
X-Files - Read a book that is 11th in a series
Vicki wrote: "I'm a little confused. I think I added 3-4 books I planned to read on the BOOKS tab but they're gone. Are we not doing regular books now? I got lost somehow."I was updating, and had a filter view on. Should be fine for you now.
I can read Xoe: Vampires, and Werewolves, and Demons, Oh My! 212 pages for book title starts with X.
Louise wrote: "@Kylie please add Salonika Burning to your shelf"Done... again. I remember doing it the first time, so strange.

OH lol OK thanks :)
Louise, should I read the X title book? If so, do I just post it in the BOOKS tab and then you place it in the best spot?
Vicki, I also have an X book (I've been traveling on vacation and had spotty connection) but if that one looks good to you go ahead and grab it! Then I can just read anything I see in the house I'm staying at.Are plays OK? I just read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two, and ARbooks says it's 45268 words.
It deals with a parent/child relationship.
Although I also read I'm Glad My Mom Died which definitely is all about a parent/child relationship.
Beth, I was only going to read it because I had it on my TBR shelf, but it's not truly my kind of book. I went ahead and started it last night so I'll finish it for us. Thanks :)
Oh no, my entire message has dissapeared....Typing it again, haha: Sorry for being MIA the first weeks of this month. My exams are finally over for now, so back to work and life.
I can read a book on the list of Top 10 books 2021: The Ride of Her Life: The True Story of a Woman, Her Horse, and Their Last-Chance Journey Across America
Also, I can squeeze in a book with a yellow or orange cover. It's a bit in between.
I finished
and forgot to mark that it was a purple cover when I logged it so just wanted to post here to point it out
New TasksX-Men - Read a book with the word Phoenix in the text
10 Things the Chipmunks Love - Reading Tasks! Read a book set in a school / college / university
New Task10 Awards - Read a book that won the Women's Prize for Fiction

Hello all!The creators of Tower Teams have given us more spell-outs!
They are under the tab "team towers." The link to the announcement is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
That link gives the rules for spell-outs again too.
I do love a good spell-out! I've read a lot of interesting books based on a character whose name starts with "x" or "z."
It looks like we can include any books that we finished after 9am UTC June 15th. I know there were a bunch that were finished yesterday, so let us know if any of them work.
School just let out for me. Phew, I'm exhausted. Fortunately, I just have teacher duties and classes for the rest of June - so I hope to have a little more reading time. Then when July hits, I'm not getting off the couch for 2 weeks. Well, maybe I'll go outside for a minute.
These are my BOM duscussion links. I noticed they are not on ss and I don't know how to link.Finished The Daughter of Doctor Moreau here are links to BOM discussion

Is anyone reading for the Korea task for Chipmunk? I might have one that I can start reading in a couple of days (once I finish the ones I am currently reading)
Read the Nobel Prize task and really didn't like the book. Guess I took one for the team. I have liked the author in the past, so I was sad that this book was a dud for me.I will look and see if I can find something for the Women's Prize task.
I put in a request at the library for a Women's Prize novel. There are some really good titles on the list. I hope I like the one I requested better than the one for Nobel.

Same thing happened to me for the Intl Booker.. had high expectations from the book but did not enjoy it.

Solve for X - Read a book with mathematical symbols on the cover

Nistha wrote: "Is anyone reading for the Korea task for Chipmunk? I might have one that I can start reading in a couple of days (once I finish the ones I am currently reading)"No one has claimed it as far as I can see.
