Hhahahaha 🤣
Imagine making the headlines and trying to explain yourself afterwards "Sooo I'm in this team challenge on GR..."

can you read more than the number of books you say you can?
From the rules:
Note: 223 is the minimum you need to read as a team each month and provided you do that and meet the requirements of those page counts above you are eligible to win.
I.e. more than your sign up is fine, but please don't deliberately underestimate your reading numbers.

I like the idea of being able to pick up a shorter book when I feel like it and not feel guilty about costing the team points, lol.
Well to be fair, even with the book cap, nobody forced you to read chunksters every single time ;-)

I know, but I always feel really guilty reading a shorter book when there are a set amount of books we're allowed to read. Because with a cap in place, the team with the highest average page count per book wins. If I read a 20 point book, I'm giving up 80 points! ;) Whereas if in a capless challenge I forego the 1000 page book and read 2x 400 page books instead, that's only 20. Makes me a lot less antsy :D
I *should* just sign up with 2 or 3 when there's a cap and sit back and relax/read outside of the challenge in that case, but there are always missing team mates to make up for, so I'll still overdo it and fry my brain, lol. Plus I get excited about challenges and sign up with far more books than I should :D
I just can't help myself.
And just to be very clear, I do not ever expect other people to do the same. I am very much a one rule for me and cut everyone else some slack kind of person, lol!

I'm picturing t-shirts, buttons, baseball caps, banners, marches down small town main streets, the whole works. Maybe even defenestrating people who don't agree with my cause from the upper floors of those lovely towers pictured above.
Too much?
On the other hand, I do have some loooong books I have been saving up.
I'm good either way.

I get it!
We decided to remove the book cap for this challenge based on this kind of feedback. Doesn't mean it is gone for good for other future challlenges, but we are back to basics for TTX :)

Hi everyone I’m sort of new here so this will be my first time doing the challenge. I love reading mostly psychological thrillers suspense and horror. But I’ll read anything to be honest lol

hheeeyyyy ggiirlll! <3

I'll start on the banners! :D

April 15, it's in the "all about" thread ;)"
thanks, I'll set my alarm

Heck, I used defenestration on my English B1 level class... teacher was quite impressed. But hey, I still feel ashamed every time people ask me what the class level was, because everyone and their mother know I'm a C1 *pouts*

Our dear mentor must be so proud of you right now!!!
*virtually hugs LK wherever she is living her current adventure*

lol, it's a great fave word to have. it sounds fun and makes most run to dictionary.com when used i'm sure. 😂🤣

😂 that's the theme"
I think you got it!

I participated last year, but I'm not remembering exactly how the page numbers fit in. I vaguely remember feeling guilty because I mostly read standard length books (like around 300 pages) and feeling like longer books would be better. Is it more beneficial to the team to have people that read the long ones? I might read Fairy Tale, so I guess that's one long-ish book. :)

Hello! I participated last year, but don't remember much. 🥴
Your genres are usually my go-to books as well. Although, I read a lot of cozy mysteries while at home over Covid and I have stuck with several of those series.

Hey Denise, reading a 600 page book or 2X300 page books give us same amount of points.
It hasn't been always like that, but I tend to go on the same range, and I always participate. In the past I have been on the bottom half, in the middle, and on the top 5 - One year my team even won!!! - BUT, no matter the place we ended up in, I ALWAYS HAVE FUN!!!
And if there is a challenge where you can read whatever your heart dictates, it's Tower Teams.

i was just coming here to post should we start a count down for sign ups!??!
9 more days! 🤭🤭
✨🌟🎉📚💃🏽

And they won't let us all be on a team together ever since, lol

No maps in my copy, sorry!

The ebook I borrowed from my library has a map of the layout of the Istanbul-Calais coach in Chapter 1.
This is the edition: Murder on the Orient Express

The map is available on BookRiot in an article called Grounds for Murder: Maps and Floor Plans in Mystery Novels.
https://bookriot.com/grounds-for-murd...

I had come across the floor plan Preeti posted but was a bit hesitant since I couldn't find it anywhere else so I wanted to make sure it actually is in at least some editions (although it's weird that it isn't in all??)
