SOLVED. Adult Fantasy - A castle slowly being destroyed by a huge tree. [s]

There were princes living with their brother the king (one prince was named Lazlo or Laslo?). They lived in a castle which was slowly being destroyed by a huge tree.

Sort of fantasy involving magic, a mysterious (?) woman. I read this around 2000 but even then I think it was written way before that.
