Review: There were enough quirky characters in this small town to keep me interested, especially Georgie's parents.
I liked both Georgie and Levi, but I kept felt like I was missing something throughout the evolution of their relationship. It seemed like it quicky went from, "what are you doing in my parents house, almost stranger" to "now I love you."
Add to that I didn't really get why Georgie wanted to do the things in the friendfic diary, but I guess that led her somewhere?
I don't know, I'm confusing myself.

There are already a few Q&A about whether books will qualify for various tasks.

Week 10

Rating: 3/5
Review:
This was a good historical read. I love a story where the FMC is supposed to be “smart/wise” and doesn’t care about society etc. and the MMC is some sort of high rank in society - like in this book. There’s a short period where they fake a marriage, he’s a viscount yet dresses and looks like a pirate, and she’s extremely quirky. Overall it was cute and I was definitely entertained. Pretty light on the 🔥 which I thought Amanda Quick historicals were usually a bit more 🔥 but it was still good. This was a physical copy. Probably wouldn’t reread this. Maybe I’ll put in a free library.
I will absolutely read more historicals by Amanda Quick.

Review: (👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓.25 )Written by Anne George, a Nobel prize and Agatha Award nominee and southern humorist, this delightful series (Southern Sisters) is about 2 retired siblings in their 60's in Birmingham, AL. While the plot is cozy murder mystery, the real genre is humor with a touch of romance. If you understand why wearing white after Memorial Day will start gossip at a Southern country club, this book may be for you. This book is #8 of 8. The narrator, Ruth Ann Phimister, does an awesome job with the various dialects and vocal characterizations of age and class. The plot is a murder mystery, and nothing is more Southern than Elvis impersonators, and while entertaining for a wedding, one is murdered. To involve the sisters more deeply, the murder weapon ends up in a sister's purse which leads to her arrest for murder.
As a cautionary tale for us all, author Anne George died from infection complications after a minor surgical procedure, terminating her life and publishing.
Available on some library's Libby apps.
(Jean ...while not intellectually demanding, these books are Southern older lady culture cute! You might enjoy?)

Week # 11
Bookcover/link:Marked by the Alpha Wolf, Part 1
Rating:⭐️⭐️
Review: Set in post WWIII landscape (inlcuding a dome ala Stephen King Under the Dome), this book couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. In a short 126 pages the novel included mutated werewolves, zombies, witches, aliens, psychics, another dimension, holograms from the other dimension, an evil corporation, and something called a dryad. I swear the book had attention deficit disorder.

😴 💤 🌚 Week #11 🌙 🛌 😴

📚 Something Fierce - Page numbers: 155 📖 4h48m 🎧
✔️How the book qualifies -M & W in author name and/or book title (SoMething Fierce by Jenika Sno⩖)

😴 Week #11 💤

Rating 3,5✨
📝Review: Jenika Snow knows how to write spicy scenes, and they need to be savoured 🥵, always. This is the first contemporary romance I read from Jenika, and I got to say I prefer her monster smut more.
The story was ok, entertaining enough, and it was slow burn with lovely tension, but the spice was great. Instant lust happens when they meet and eventually they give in to their urges and felling develop which leads them to a hea with very hot moments.
Great narration made the story better and it was a quick and fun listen.

Same to you Van! We definitely have very similar reading tastes!! If you have KU I definitely recommend this Mindf*ck series - I’m about to start the last book. So damn good!

Review: I love the Bergman family and had been looking forward to Ziggy's book. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I was glad she was paired with someone that was the opposite of her, but it was something about it that was unsatisfying to me.
I guess the reason for their "plan" seemed to benefit Sebastian more than it did Ziggy. I really don't think she need him for her side of things, but I do feel like he needed her.
Overall, it was a decent addition, but I still left wanting more of whatever is to come for Viggo's story, than the outcome of this one.
