This is book one of The Last Hours trilogy. It is set in Edwardian London and follows the children of Will, Tessa and friends. Let the teenage angst begin. Cordelia Carstairs, her mother and brother arrive in London hoping to make connections and find a possible husband for Cordelia. Cordelia wants to find a way to help her father who is in prison awaiting trail in Idris. Cordelia is to train with Lucie Herondale, her best friend and soon to be patabatai. She is in love with Lucie's brother James, who thinks he's in love with Grace Blackthorn. Grace is the ward of Tatiana Blackthorn who hates the Herondales and anything related to Shadowhunters. Throw in some demon killing and a scheming Prince of Hell and you have the general plot. I enjoyed this book because it was a fluff read. If you want thought provoking literature this is not the book for you. It's light, kind of cheesy, almost a John Hughes movie kind of book.
