Scott | 8696 comments I wouldn't worry about it, we all know the changelog is dodgy and we're not checking up on you, honest. :)

Arenda | 26447 comments When I saw the comment didn't save, I then fussed with the original title field

I don't think it is possible to add a change comment to changes to the "Work" section, like original title field, original pub date.

figuring least questionable thing to fuss with

Adding something minor (an extra period or Enter) to the description field seems the best option when you really want to leave a change comment.

Elizabeth (Alaska) The comment change box doesn't work when moving an author up, or editing an existing secondary author and clicking save.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Good thread, Corinne.

Thanks, Arenda, for the suggestion about putting a . or something in a field so a comment can be left. I've used that tip this morning.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I don't know if there has been a change in programming. What I have discovered in the last several hours is that leaving a change comment and clicking the Save Changes button actually saves the comment even when not associated with an actual change. Admittedly, I have been doing this after removing a cover that didn't match the title, but the changelog shows the comment separately.

I would love to hear from others regarding entering a change comment without an edit (following a saved edit in the work section?) and whether or not it is recorded in the changelog.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I made a couple of tests. No, it still doesn't save comments for changes in the Work Edits section. Also, it doesn't save comments when I forgot to leave a comment with a change and added one afterward.
