What does the family learn from Grandmother Majauskiene?

How have Jurgis’s views of work, unions, politics, etc. changed in the time we’ve known him?

What more have we learned about the companies in Packingtown?

Regarding the corporate world, what has improved since then and what practices continue to happen?

I was struck by how quickly, easily, and cheaply Jurgis became a citizen! (We've been through the process with my husband - it was not quick, easy, or cheap!)

My notes say that union names at that time were often given a Native American flavor (maybe similar to how Freemasons adapt their names and personas from Middle Eastern cultures).
