That answers every question I've ever had about his gender and sexuality, and I've had many. In fact, it makes me even more puzzled as to why his books aren't in print and haven't been for a very long time. The plays are fabulous though probably not republishable now - which is a shame - but the novels and short story collections deserve a new audience.

Louise Culmer | 84 comments I enjoyed his stories as a child, our local library had most of them. the Apple-Stone was my favourite, it has some very funny bits. The Seventh Swan was another oneI liked very much. What became of the Prince who was left with a swan’s wing? Is a good basis for a story. But I haven’t read any of them in recent years.

Back in 2020/2021 Neil Gaiman tweeted that he was looking into the potentiality of getting Nicholas Stuart Gray republished. Gray inspired so many other fantasy writers, Gaiman among them. No other details were provided on the tweet, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that Mr. Gaiman will be able to pull some magical strings and have his books published again.

I had Gaiman in mind as a possible spur to getting at least one or two of Gray's books republished. I'm glad to hear that he's working on it.

Louise Culmer | 84 comments I just reread The Seventh Swan after many years since first reading it, and it’s very good. Could definitely do with a reprint.
