Oh...it's got to be this book for me.... it's not for everyone...but I loved it 😜

It wasn't met with much competition, but I would have to say Parable of the Sower because, obviously! Can't wait to continue on with the next one. At some point. Hopefully soon-ish.

My favorite this week is by Dan Brown (The Lost Symbol), because we'll go on a trip to D. C. in April.

I don't know about comparisons, but I started two books, a psychohistorical biography of Adolf Hitler published in 1977 titled Psychopathic God; and a novel based off a true story, about a girl who ran away from a convent meant punish her, took away her child, and she found no other good financial options to help her get her child back but to join a kindly (to her) prostitution house, set in the 1860s, titled The Lives of Diamond Bessie. Forgive my poor synopsizing. So far, I like the author's introductory discussion of researcher/historian trends and tokenizing, and of the historiography which he felt needed to be approached differently. The novel so far is sad! Now that I think of it, it may bear a slight parallel to the plight of one character from Les Miserables (but it's probably just superficial and something only my imagination could construe).

Christine the Lost Symbol was really good?

Yes, it was pretty good!
It takes place in Washington, D. C., and you go to all these famous buildings and places.

Last year it was available on one of these streaming channels as a TV series and it really did stick to Dan Brown's plot. But I don't think it was filmed in D. C.. I've been to D. C. twice and while watching "The Lost Symbol" I never got this feeling that it was actually done there.

On the other hand I was sad that they did not film it as a movie with Tom hanks.

Parable of the Sower is so good! I have the next one and haven’t read it yet. Thanks for reminding me!
My 5 star read recently was Hide by Kiersten White. Other reviewers didn’t love it as much as I did but I was pulled through it quickly and couldn’t put it down.

Light from Uncommon Stars

I just finished Paul Hole's true crime story Unmasked: My Life Solving America's Cold Cases . I have been in a true crime kick and also finished the late Michelle McNamara's I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer. Both regard the Golden State Killer. I listened to these both via audio. I did not enjoy Paul's voice or his writing but the information I found interesting.

This is the culprit that started my true crime kick by Ashley Flowers : All Good People Here. This fiction novel was so good and kept me guessing right until the very end. It is written by the creator of the podcast Crime Junkie which is also very good. I have only listened to a few episodes as I rather enjoy the podcast Up and Vanished as well as My Favorite Murder.

Haven't written my reviews yet as life and work have been crazy.
