How do you put your phone down to read?

i try to focus on my reading but each time i end a chapter i need to refresh my pages count on goodreads to see how far i am

If your constantly checking your phone when reading you’re reading the wrong book. Once you get into a good book it becomes way better than scrolling through your phone in my opinion x

put your phone somewhere you don't see, mute notifs and put it further away from you (then you are too lazy to get up all the time). But I also agree, if you are checking your phone often while reading, the book is probably not the best choice

I almost have no urge to check on my phone while reading, but at the same time i do use a focus app called ‘Forest’ whenever i decided to read, the app purpose is to make people stay focused but i personally use it as a time tracker, and see how many hours i’ve spent reading whether daily/weekly/monthly/yearly 😆 also the coins you’ve gathered can be used to plant a real tree! which is a win win 🤌🏻

i usually read at night to escape technology including my phone. usually books alone are good enough to distract my mind from grabbing my phone.
