Robin P | 5742 comments This is a sweet fable about books, friendship, love and growing up. The teenage hero feels lost after his only close family member dies, his grandfather, the proprietor of a bookshop. A talking cat (very Japanese) takes him on quests that teach him what it is to really love books, to be courageous, and to be empathetic. The quests involve people who say they love books, but they love them in order to show off or in order to look productive (with extreme abridgments) or in order to make money. This was a very quick read and could be enjoyed by both teenagers and adults.
