Even in the previous book, I didn't believe she was working with Agency of her own volition, so I wasn't surprised that she asked for help. That said, I was only 100% convinced that she was a victim with the revelation of the blackmail photos. I couldn't see her agreeing to a cover that involved an affair with her daughter's ex.
Jo was a real question make for me. Sometimes I thought she was working for the Agency and other times I believed she wasn't. I was suspicious when she showed up at the Starbucks asking for help. Like Lauren, I wasn't convinced until the blackmail photos reveled she was sleeping with the same man Tracy was.
Same with me. I actually didn't remember anything about this character from when I read the series several years ago. I kept wondering if she was working with the Agency or show she played into the whole thing.
Robin, I didn’t recall her from my first read over ten years ago either.
I didn’t trust Dr. Heissman and was on the fence up to when she was proven to be a victim, leaning more towards her being a tool of whomever was trying to kill Nash.
