Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ It's that time again!

Any GH book is eligible, except for those read in 2022 https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
or already read this year https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Nominations will close in four days or when we have five nominations - whichever comes first.

I'm going to get the ball rolling with Friday's Child I think a comparison between Sherry & Ludovic could be interesting!

Hi QnPB - if Critterbee doesn't want to lead this read, would you be prepared to do so? I don't want to read this book again, sorry. Added to the nomination list in the meantime.

Yes I can do it. I'll be away from home on May 1 but I can set it up before I leave.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Thanks QNPB!

Still room for one more!

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4143 comments We are currently having a fun adventure with Eustacie, Sarah and company, so I won’t nominate “The Tollgate”, as I was tempted to do - might be too much adventure! So I’ll nominate another fun, farcical book, “Cotillion”.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ & the poll is up. Some great choices there - will be interesting to see which one wins.

Poll is here https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...

& should also be on our home page (scroll down)

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Just a reminder that the poll closes tomorrow!

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ & the poll has closed - with Cotillion the winner & Friday's Child only one vote behind. As usual in cases like this we will read Cotillion in May & Friday's Child in June.

Not relevant to most of you, but the poll gave me the option to set in NZ time. This didn't work properly so I will go back to PST in the future.

Jackie | 1728 comments Yay, indeed! Cotillion might just be my very favorite Heyer, and you know that's saying a lot.

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4143 comments I decided to order the CD set to enjoy with Phyllida Nash, my favorite Heyer narrator, reading, since it has disappeared from Audible and my library audiobook collection. They still have the ebook, though, so that’s something, I guess. It’s one of my favorites, too, such fun!

I can listen to an abridged audio book from my library read by Clara Wille. or I could shop amazon.... $13.67

if I had a decent CD player though, I have two and both are in poor shape.

but who wants abridged!

Lol, agreed! I bought a basic CD player as I noticed some of my favorite Heyer audiobooks are disappearing from my library’s collection and Audible. I figured if I own the CDs, I can listen when I want, and don’t have to worry about copyright issues, or the library thinning their collection.

message 23: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 2186 comments Missed all this again!!!! I don't think I'm going to get to this month's read but I'm definitely up for Cotillion.

Susan in Perthshire (susanageofaquarius) | 1448 comments I’ve not read Cotillion since I was 18 (decades ago!) - so this is a good opportunity to read it and see if I like it better - now that I’m older!

Teri-K | 154 comments I really like Cotillion. I've already got my copy from the library and am looking forward to revisiting it!
