I think my first ever was 1990's - Enid Blyton 'first Term At Malory Towers'
Which then resulted in all the Malory towers series, The Secret Garden, everything by Lucy Maude Montgomery and so by the age of 12 in 1996 I had started with Hideaway by Dean Koontz and never looked back since. Low key this was TMI - factory default in my settings.
