Carolyn | 1643 comments The Note by Alafair Burke The Note by Alafair Burke is the tale of three women on a girls weekend away who get into trouble over a silly prank note. It didn't quite work for me even though I usually enjoy this author, but many other readers have rated it highly.

PETER MWENDWA | 4 comments Introducing The Perfect Lie Series – A Thrilling Journey of Suspense, Crime, and Mystery!
The Perfect Victim (The Perfect Lie Series Book 1)
BOOK DESCRIPTION
When Ivy Carter is found bloodied and half-conscious in a motel room she doesn’t recognize, the police call it a random attack. A violent assault. She’s lucky to survive. But Ivy knows better. Something doesn’t add up.
With no memory of how she ended up in the motel, or even why she was there in the first place, Ivy tries to pick up the shattered pieces of her life. But the deeper she digs, the darker the truth becomes. The attack wasn’t random. It was staged. She was being watched. Someone wanted her in that room.
Strange messages begin to surface—hidden in her lipstick, a burner phone tucked away in her closet, a coded note written in a handwriting she doesn’t recognize. And then, a chilling letter arrives: “You played your part perfectly. Now it’s your turn to hide.”
Ivy is trapped in a deadly game—a game she never agreed to play. With every turn, the stakes get higher, and if she doesn’t figure out the rules fast, someone else will pay the price.
The clock is ticking. And the worst part? What happened in that motel room wasn't the beginning... It was the final warning.

The series is set before, during, and after WWII with the novels running parallel to various actual events along the timeline. This one is set in Europe in the early days of 1938 and 1939 as the Nazis have annexed both Austria and Czechoslovakia.
