Read this in the 60s or 70s. People will party wildly, then slide themselves into the devices 'hopper', and recreate an earlier (pre party) version of themselves, who wake up the next day oblivious to the party activities. A Banker keeps returning to his bank and is met by the custodian. Kids have wild party at the bank and try to force the Banker to open the vault, but he has a heart attack and dies. Custodian then recreates the banker and takes his body home, hoping that someday the banker will actually open the vault before he dies.

Glad you found your short story, Robert.
Do you recall which anthology/ collection you found it in? For example:
- Fun with Your New Head by Thomas M. Disch? There are different cover images.
- World's Best Science Fiction 1965 by Donald A. Wollheim (ed.)? There are different cover images.
