I'm just gonna keep changing my name, like a CAPTCHA...

Who knew the BR Form needed an authenticator & two-step verification... a code has been texted to your cell phone, you have 60 seconds to input...

Captcha is evil. Like there is a piece of the traffic light in this picture, don't tell me it isn't!

Really enjoying the sn..."
I love her already! Only up to chapter 6 and she's one of my new favourite fictional characters. The snark is real and in here for it.

I had an in-person book club last night (I made folks read Children of Time and it was the first book that everyone liked--yay!) and I recommended Slouch Witch to the crew... I have at least two local converts too. I had to tell them about the cat.

Children of Time is one of those books where describing the book can scare people away... intelligent enormous spiders... but anyone that likes science can enjoy it from many different directions... zoology, sociology, computer science, etc...

I think that's been my response to everyone in the early chapters of the book now... it's just so startling and hilarious... especially on audio...

That's pretty much exactly the conversational line that led to recommending Slouch Witch... ^_^
re: Children of Time--one Youtube review I watched said that if you love spiders, you need to read the book. And if you hate spiders, you need to read the book. I guess people who are noncommittal about spiders are off the hook.

I don't have pets, but like seeing them in stories...
I've never really lived anywhere that wouldn't cost me extra to have pets, and then there's the actual costs of having a pet... I'm allergic to cat hair... and any pet would be cooped up inside for half the day while I'm at work... and I feel barely able to walk on my sore feet after a day of work...
And I generally blame my childhood, where I was the only one consistently feeding the household pets & taking them outside when needed, half the time...
My family had a bunch of pets... many dogs... many cats, too, because who really cares about my allergies, and a bunch of lizards and hamsters/gerbils, and maybe some fish...

I just saw "low maintenance leopard" and was like "that sounds dangerous" :D

@Iain--I can see how that kind of childhood would put a person off pet-owning...

me too! I also think (view spoiler)

me too! I also think [spoilers removed]"
Yes, very much looking forward to karma coming knocking on that character's door!
Agreed... I was a bit lost, after reading a dozen other books, but with Nirkatze's refresher, I wholeheartedly agree :D

Yes they are scheduled for 7/3 & 8/3.

Overall this is actually my least favorite series so far I've read by the author. Still fun though!

I loved the eloquence of Brutus at the end, hahaha!
That would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? LOL
We're supposed to write (real) Iain and just hope that no one notices it's fake... ^^
