March Subdue the Shelf Roll Requests
NancyJ wrote: "And that's a wrap! I'll let you know when I'm ready to get back on the train with a new gameboard."Congratulations, Nancy!
Kate, this happened once before and Anita had the player take the first die, so that is how I am going to score this roll, for now. I am sure she will check in this evening to verify.
I am ready for my next Clerk roll. I am finally past the halfway point in my 2nd book after rolling 6+5=11.
Second Class Lounge, here I come!
I won't be moving for a while. I forgot I put some audiobooks on this list and my current selection is 16 hours long. Not something I want to get into right now. Unfortunately, I've used up my swaps. I might see if I can get the print version from the library as I can read it a lot faster than I can listen.
Rolls for 3/6:Theresa 4-6
Cheryl 6-2
Olivermagnus 5
Theresa, your surprise advantage is a SUPER SWAP. This swap works for the Clerk board only. You may swap out any books that are behind your current position with any books in front of your current position. All swaps must be done at once, but you may use this swap at any time. Just alert me before you are about to use it.

Oh, wow. that's so cool! I'll take a look and see what book I might want to move ahead of me and where then PM you.

Just to make sure we are on the same page, you may switch as many as you want so long as they are all done at once.
And you don't have to use it now, so if you want to wait until more books are behind you, you can do that.

My roll on 3/5 was a 6 and today's roll was a 5 so I'm going to read a book from Daniel's Subdue Shelf before reading my book. I'm choosing his #81 - The Ritual Bath.

I read that years ago - it's by Kellerman, right? Really good and I learned about a Jewish tradition I'd never heard of.

Thanks though I understood that. It is an interesting super advantage and I have to give it some thought on when it would be most useful and for what books.
Anita wrote: "Oh good, Theresa. I wasn't sure I was explaining it very clearly . . ."You were perfect!
I'm ready for my next roll, thank you. One of the books I read in this chain of being moved was over 1,000 pages, so I think that gets me 6 dice this time? Here is the link to verify the length: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Edge-Eternit...
Rolls for 3/7:Sabrina 5-3
Cora 6-4
Hannah 5-6-4-1-6-1-6
Cora, your special advantage is that you may skip any book you land on that has at least 5 people who tagged it DNF (or any version of that i.e. did-not-finish, abandoned, etc.). Your subsequent roll will move you forward from that spot of the skipped book. You may use when you wish.
I am ready for another roll, please (5 dice). Here is the link for the number of pages:

Hey, JoAnne! You and I are sharing the Amy Memorial Perch just inside the Baggage Car exit to Second Class Lounge! Looks like I won't have time to finish my last Baggage Car book until this weekend. Will we be moving on around the same time? I think it might take the 2 of us to whip Second Class into shape.
If not that soon, Theresa, right behind you. I just finished 2 fantasy books, so now I can move onto the one from here (I waited as it is another fantasy). I am ready for the excellent tea and biscuits I have smelled wafting from there, my head cold is still hanging on. Is this train headed anywhere warm? I am in bad need of a day in the sun-shiney!

I have been dropping huge hints that I expect daily traditional teas to be served in the Second Class Lounge upon my arrival.
Others may want to speed up or slow their own reading to take advantage. I should arrive by Sunday.

That takes me off the board. I'll post my Engineer Gameboard and come back tomorrow.

Ooh, OM you will likely hit Second Class Lounge while I am there given my glacial pace! We will freshen up the tea services, adding a wee dram or two here and there, when you do.

I didn't think I liked scones, but one of our neighbors dropped off some blueberry scones last week and they were incredible.

I just got there today, so I'll see you tomorrow!
An Amy Memorial Perch in my final seat? Can we use another word other than the morbid and macabre "memorial"? How about celebrated and honored perch? Or Still Warm Perch? Or Hide From Gnarly Spot? Do they serve those warm croissants wherever the hell I am at, at 58? Because I smell them and I want them. Would go great with a morning glass of Moscato.
Amy wrote: "An Amy Memorial Perch in my final seat? Can we use another word other than the morbid and macabre "memorial"? How about celebrated and honored perch? Or Still Warm Perch? Or Hide From Gnarly Spot? ..."What do they call it in academia? The Amy Endowed Perch?
@Amy - you are in Second Class Lounge, very close to the exit. Those must be the fresh baked croissants from First Class Cafe.
If you check the Gameboards thread you not only see where everyone is, but Anita kindly put the car guide first!
