The Bangalore Detectives Club
was a fun historical mystery. My four star review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This Is Why We Lied by Karin Slaughter is another stellar thriller in her Will Trent series.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I thoroughly enjoyed the one-hour audio of Don Winslow's short story, Dietrich, narrated perfectly by award-winning actor Ed Harris. It's the Son of Sam summer in NYC, 1977, so it's hard to find spare cops to investigate the murder of a homeless man.
My review of DietrichFree for Audible subscribers
TIME Magazine called a song about lynching, "Strange Fruit", the song of the 20th century. How Percival Everett managed to write a satire about such a subject, The Trees, and make it laugh-out-loud funny is beyond me.
My review of The TreesShortlisted for the 2022 Booker Prize - no wonder.
Dear Hanna

Robert Dugoni is one author whose books I always enjoy and this intriguing legal trial featuring defence attorney Keera Duggan is no exception. This time defending someone she grew up hating and thinks is probably a sociopath!
Beyond Reasonable Doubt by Robert Dugonireview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Andrew McGahan was a fine Australian writer who won the 2005 Miles Franklin Award for The White Earth, which certainly meets the criteria, being of the highest literary merit and presenting Australian life in any of its phases. I do love a good historical mystery.

Six of Crows by Leigh BardugoThis felt very different, in a good way, compared with Bardugo's Shadow and Bone trilogy though is set in the same universe. It’s not often that I read a high stakes international crime caper in the urban fantasy genre.
