Hi, all.

Here's a no spoiler thread for The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments hello, everyone. I'm going to start reading this book in a couple of days. I'm definitely looking forward to all your viewpoints.

fleurette | 46 comments I started it some time ago, but it wasn't the right time. I really hope to read it now.

Kay (kayx1f342) | 11 comments Same as fleurette, I'm going to try again.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments I'm 8 chapters in, and I'm truly wishing for a lille bit of action:)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments It's interesting to see the minute detailing of all the scenes, and his descriptions of people is incredible. Sammy Pipps's reasoning is fabulous.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments hi guys, first it's pleasant to read about the United East India Company somewhere other than my history textbook. and I am really getting impatient for something to happen, and I'm just short of midpoint.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments for those who've read, what did you guys think for Sara? personally, I think she's really stupid

fleurette | 46 comments Finished it yesterday and really liked, not as much as The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, but it's good to know that the author is able to write something different and I like these kind of elaborated mysteries.

Here is my full spoiler-free review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments I'm glad you liked it. I've just crossed the half way mark, so getting there.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments I finished the book, and for all my previous ranting,I actually liked the book. Didn't care too much for the end. The author took the easy way out here .
Arent Hayes is such a sweet, unassuming hero. I kept on going for him. Sara was OK, more stupid and outspoken than what I would expect from someone who's regularly abused.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments @ Fleurette - did you figure out who Old Tom was?

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 2698 comments this book has some of the best quotable quotes.

aPriL does feral sometimes (cheshirescratch) | 1296 comments I finished the novel. It is a different than what I expected.

Sorry, I didn't replay immediately, I think there was something wrong with my notifications.

About Old Tom, I definitely had my suspicions about the whole thing and I was right about it (as this is a non-spoiler discussion, I can't go in too many details). But I think that it was the co-conspirator who surprised me the most.

Aditya | 2017 comments I read this a while ago and has forgotten most of it. I enjoyed The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle more.
