I love this list. I found many more I’d like to read. Hoopla has many of the books that my library doesn’t have.
Does anyone remember if there are Subdue the Shelf rules that apply to Manga and graphic novels?

Snow Country
The Woman in the Dunes
Foundations of Oriental Art & Symbolism
Japanese Notebooks
Japanese Farm Food
Memoirs of a Geisha
Japanese Fairy Tales
Shōgun
Declutter: The Japanese Art of Minimalism
Simplicity at Home: Japanese Rituals, Recipes, and Arrangements for Thoughtful Living
Surviving Hiroshima: A Young Woman's Story
Minka: My Farmhouse in Japan
The Abundance of Less: Lessons in Simple Living from Rural Japan
Surviving Hiroshima: A Young Woman's Story reading this for Subduing the Shelf
Thank you for the lists they were helpful. May keep adding to this list so check back.

Thanks Amy.
I am kinda new to this group. What does "knock off a birthday Candle with this Japan tag " mean?

I have [book:Japanese Farm Food|13544281] cookbook, I've enjoyed looking through it but never managed to actually use it. It is so beautiful. I'll love to see your take on it.
Cosmic, this is our 15th anniversary and so we have a birthday challenge putting candles on our cake:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Our other year long challenge is Subdue the Shelf. The Trim the TBR Challenge is an optional one, carried over from a year that we did it as a year long for the entire group. There are other mini challenges, but many people who join just stick with the monthly tag for a bit, and do what they can. Some only do that anyway. I hope that helps.

Hello Cosmic! Welcome to PBT . . .
I am one of our four administrators, so just wanted to say hello.
This year is the 15th year we've been in existence, so we are celebrating!! You are welcome to join our Happy Birthday, PBT challenge if you like that type of thing (no pressure though).
The details can be found here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Every year, we have two year-long challenges, but new members are welcome to join them at any time.

I joined this group because my GR friend, Book Concierge, (who I have since happily met in real life!) recommended it as a very active group - and it sure is that!
