There is a special place in Hell for books that are started by their authors yet never finished. They reside in the wing of the library of the unwritten but occasionally they come back to life and try to chase down their authors in an attempt to be finished. One such character, Hero, forces the Head Librarian Claire, her assistant Brevity who is a bit of a failed muse and a new demon, Leto, to chase him up to Earth where they have an unexpected run in with an angel from Heaven. A quest ensues for a missing book in chase to prevent war between Heaven and Hell and keep the books in the library safe. The quest takes our MCs to various realms either to search or answers or flee something worse.

The concept is interesting and I enjoyed that all the characters are morally grey. However something was wrong with the flow in that it was just so hard to stay engaged and took forever to finish somehow. Maybe it was the short chapters with different POVs? I did like the characters and how they linked and evolved as secrets came to light. Maybe the next one would flow a bit better.
