(remove if not allowed!) Any other reviewer places?

Hey, I didn't see any rules against this but forgve me if there is.

I find this group a tad overwhelming as everywhere is just "send me reviews" and "review my thing", trying to find reccomendations, newer books, etc is a bit hard and exhausting. Not to mention with all the changes to goodreads recently, it's become incredibly hard to use this godforsaken site haha!

Does anyone know if there's a discord or something for book reviewers? Would make it a lot easier to chat to one another and find new books easily.

If one doesn't exist, is anyone else interested in one?

I agree, sometimes it can be very overwhelming. Also, I've had many times when someone will reach out to me and I never get a response to my reply so I'm not entirely sure if they're bots.

I would be very interested in knowing if there are other places I can go as a writer to find reviewers.

That was a thought of mine too! So many seem either copy-pasted with no care, people spamming the same things multiple times or bots. Feels more like an advertising group rather than a community. Advertising can have a place, but would be nice to chat authentically about the books themselves as well haha

I do have experience in managing discord servers - I think discord feels like a pretty good use for this type of thing - so I wouldn't object to starting one up myself.

I don't see any rules about not posting invite links like this but after a bit of interest I made a server for authors and reviewers :) Should be all ready to go and set up with everything needed!
