I've been having a little trouble keeping up with running this book club with a new book every month. Since I got a full time job, I've had much less free time!

Because of that, I'm proposing we switch to 1 book every 2 months. I know a lot of you are fast readers and will be disappointed by this, but I think it will help my mental sanity. And maybe it means we can pick some longer books in the future!

I hope you guys will stick around and continue to be part of this book club, and who knows - maybe with this new schedule we'll actually have time to have live shows for these books. And I can start making videos announcing what the new book is!

I think this will be positive, overall. It'll mean I can do a lot more with this club. <3

Sammy Page (sammehpage) | 24 comments Awww :( This makes me sad because I read a lot of books at work, but that's okay! I can still attack my tbr list which does need some love, so I totally approve of the 1 book every 2 months!

message 3: by Ava (new)

Ava Being able to read larger books will be great. This is actually perfect timing for me because work is getting really busy so I will love to had the extra time!

Moira | 3 comments As someone who also has a full time job and is a pretty slow reader this is good news for me. I only managed the December book.

goldberry (missgoldberry) Oh, it's perfect for me - I'm very busy with school and it's pretty expensive to buy a book every month :)

Colin Barrow | 37 comments This sounds good to me. I think that we all joined this book club because you're running it so anything that helps you to stay more involved is a good thing

I totally agree.

Melissa | 18 comments This is actually perfect for me as a slower reader. Additionally, I completely support anything that makes it easier and more enjoyable for you to run things here. This group is something fun we can all do together, it should stay that way for you as well. Honestly, if it ever came down to this feeling like just a job or an obligation for you and you weren't having fun with it anymore, I hope you'd stop doing it. You're sharing your passion for books with us and we appreciate that, but you certainly don't owe us anything here. <3

message 9: by Maddison (new)

Maddison (maddeyeh) | 18 comments That's perfectly fine and will ultimately help me out in the future because one of my college classes demands virtually every second of my free time.

This is your book club. You can do what you want with it.

You are all so supportive and lovely! Thank you so much. I also hope to do a couple of readathons here, so I'm looking forward to that.

Thank you all so much for being involved. <3

Kayla Farley (kaymarfar) | 5 comments No problem because I'm a slower reader and a big mood reader so I like this format :)

message 12: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Farley (kaymarfar) | 5 comments And it's also your book club so my opinion kind of doesn't matter as long as it works for you I'll always participate :)

message 13: by Kimbra (new)

Kimbra (isayrawrbciloveyou) Do what you need to do. We'll all be here along for the ride with you!

Melissa | 18 comments I feel like every time there's something that needs to be changed, almost everyone responds with an almost overwhelming amount of positivity in these threads. I hope that never changes. We're developing as a community quite well, in my opinion, and that makes me really happy to see.
It's also interesting to me that, aside from one person who already has a plan in mind to fit their needs, cutting back is actually a better option for most of us. It looks like most of us read at a similar pace, whether it's because of our daily lives or our reading speed, which should cut down on overwhelming situations when it comes to reading in the future (except when some of us are in that inevitable super busy time of the year in our lives).

message 15: by Ava (new)

Ava You are exactly right Melissa! I hate feeling like reading is just another chore I have to do because I'm busy or behind!

message 16: by Alexandre (new)

Alexandre López calvo | 7 comments I was totally ok with the monthly book thingy but slowing the speed can't annoy anyone. It just lets me give some more time to my other groups. This will be my number one prority anyhow.

One thing I would recommend if we ever go back to the monthly schedule is voting for two books each time so some of us who live in countrys which doesn't have a high supply of english language books can still buy them in advance. For example, I couldn't start "The name of the Star" until the 20th of February despite buying it the 3rd.

As usual accept my apologies for any bleed eyes caused by my language skills.

message 17: by Alice (new)

Alice (girlofyarn) This is a welcomed change. :)

message 18: by Monique (new)

Monique | 22 comments This is a great idea! I only just received this months book in the mail and I have a lot to do at work this week and was worried I wouldn't get it finished!

message 19: by Mat (new)

Mat | 41 comments Awesome!!! University and real life just got too crazy and I fell behind in reading and "shelved" the club for a bit! One every two months means I can catch up even faster! Now hopefully I can just stop planning for work at home :p

message 20: by Annelie (new)

Annelie Sounds perfect! That allows me to read other books from my TBR as well.

Danielle Caponpon | 5 comments This is great! I've been having problems keeping up due to working and now my commute changed to driving everyday. This will help and give more time to just enjoy the story rather than rush thru it.
