It's not "somebody" it's the goodreads bot. The ISBN10 serves as valid ASIN for many books. Superlibrarians cannot change ASIN, please read before posting.I forwarded the request to merge to ASIN to support.
It's unfortunate that there's a bot going around creating unnecessary duplicates. ISBN numbers are never equivalent sequences to ASINs, as you probably know; even ISBN-13s with the prefix 979 always have a totally different ASIN code at Amazon.com made up of random letters and numbers. So I can't understand the justification for what the bot's doing. In a random check today, I found that ISBN 1644696401 (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...) now has a duplicate page where 1644696401 is the ASIN instead (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7...), and 164469994X was similarly duplicated.
That being said, I perhaps can mark this topic as "DONE" because the duplicate for my book no longer appears in the list at https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio... nor does it in the "More Editions" scroll for my book.
I'm also very unhappy with those senseless duplicates the bot creates instead of adding the ASIN at the right place. The fact that even supers cannot fix it is even more annoying. Nevertheless, at least support answers quickly.I sent the other report you made down their way as well. You don't need me to do that, just contact support.

I'm getting very good results recently. I send about 10-20 their way a day and get about 95% success.

results were too mixed to bother further.
Try to ignore them now because, why should I try if even staff doesn't?
And can't keep up with a bot either. Waste of time.

Can you please delete that page?
That number already has this fully functional and more accurate page to keep:
