I can't wait! I've been wanting to re-read this for a while. The problem with re-reading a book I loved is I'm worried I won't like it as much the second time. Or I'm worried you won't like it as much as me, and then I'll be sad, lol.

Hopefully we both enjoy it. I will be starting soon.

Started. I didn't need to worry. I love it just as much the second time :) I feel sorry for Addie. She just wanted to get out of an unwanted marriage and messed everything up.
Yes, this is a cautionary tale...be careful what you wish/ask for. I can't imagine not only out living everyone you loved but also having no one know or remember you. How lonely and sad that would be.
It would be lonely not being remembered. Plus having to make money and have a place to sleep! I love Henry. He seems perfect for Addie.
Finished. I love Addie and her stubbornness and Henry and his vulnerability. (view spoiler)
Addie was a dreamer and took her time exploring the world, finding all the right and wrong way to do things. But she never gave up.
“Never pray to the gods that answer after dark.”
I could read this book every year and never get bored with it.

I agree. I wouldn't want that life/existence. I like Henry, too. How can he remember her? What is he hiding?

I don't know which is worse. To have such adoration without real love would be horrible. Never having a real relationship.

Yes, neither one of them are good.

Finished and enjoyed it. I loved Addie! She was tenacious, just wanted to be remembered and loved. Henry wanted to be loved for who he was. It was sad that they couldn't be together in the end.

We will start reading this book on February 9th.
Please feel free to join in and read with us at any time :)
