T ✩ Handmaiden Of Amidala (tarria) I just reread the Worst Witch series after years and it was honestly terrible and I feel like my childhood is ruined. Literally nothing happened in half the books, the characters outside of Mildred, Hardbroom and Cackle have no personality and the series just got worse and worse as it went on.

Similarly, I thought The Borrowers by Mary Norton had a very rushed ending and quite a bit of Indian racism that went over my head as a child.

On the flipside I reread Princess Academy by Shannon Hale and it was just as good as I found it to be when I first discovered the series in middle school.

Anyone else encountered this?

Kirsten (kmcripn) | -2 comments I read the Dark is Rising series recently for the first time since I was in middle school, and it still had the ability to thrill.
