I think the book would have been better if Daniel was truly the devious manipulator he was first appeared to be. Chiefly because the ending would have been more compelling if Noelle had triumphed over such a man. Noelle's struggles parallel the plight of many women caught in an emotionally abusive relationship. Exploring this further, illustrating the courage and strength it takes to turn the tables on someone like Daniel, could provide an entertaining and inspiring story. Noelle would have to dig deep to face off against him.
