What's the name of your DarkShip?

Probably one of my favorite things in sci-fi and fantasy is when authors get creative or downright silly with the names of ships. This book had some good ones: The Cathouse, the Howl At The Moon, the Hairball, the Drool, the Indiscretion, the Fowl Reciprocity, the Beaver, the Troglodyte, the Pounce, and more.

What would you name your DarkShip? I think mine would be the Persistence of Cat Hair. Alternately, what is your all-time favorite ship name? (Don't everyone say Enterprise or Serenity, please.)

I would probably pick my daughter's name: Josephine.

I love Enterprise, Battlestar Galactica & Serenity but my all time favorite ship name is the Heart of Gold in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

My DarkShip is known as Ride of the Valkyries.

My DarkShip would be the Lair of Bastet. ("Bastet" referring to the ancient Egyptian goddess.) Plus, I've always wanted to have my own lair.

Gray, I don't know what motivated you to start trolling a romance book club forum thread, specifically one that was meant to a fun little aside, but I believe I speak for the entire community when I say we wish you would stop. The members in this group have gone to great lengths to create an environment that is welcoming and friendly to all, so in that spirit I will say that I wish that you find a less destructive way to deal with the anger you feel you need to express here. I've always felt "Wandering Monster" would be a neat name for a ship. Iain M.Banks also has some great ship names in his Culture series, such as "Anticipation Of A New Lover's Arrival".

I can't use Bastet for a ship name (like Holly said she'd use above), because that's already taken as the name of my cat. Yes, I thought I was pretty clever at the time.

My fav is the "T.A.R.D.I.S.", because I enjoy what the acronym stands for.

If I was going to create my own name, though it'd most likely be "The Scoundrel", as I enjoy mischievousness. :)

I like that one of the ships is basically named "The Serenity"... "An Suaimhneas"; since "An Phaidir Suaimhneas" is "The Serenity Prayer".

But my favorite name for a ship is the Rocinante, because it fits perfectly with the captain's plans for it - from The Expanse series by James SA Corey.

I don't think I could resist calling my ship the Pussy Galore - it would just crack me up every time anyone had to say it.

Mine would be The Gentle Stranger. It is actually from the book when Thena thinks about her past lovers being just gentle strangers and it somehow seems a good way to describe some of my past encounters and occasionally myself :-)

My favorite ship is Normandy from Mass Effect.
