Anita Pomerantz | 9280 comments Ellen, you have a special roll. The person to be moved is:

List Randomizer
There were 45 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

anarresa

Let me know within 24 hours or so what you'd like to do.

Hanging around in Baggage, myself. When I made up my list for the train I made sure every book on the list was either in my own library or the public library had it available. Cripes. some of the books on there are pretty obscure, and once again someone has the book out, I swear someone is stalking me and grabbing my books to make my train ride longer!

I have a question please. Am I moving her from the book she is currently reading (26) or the one she has already received a roll for (36)? Thanks.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12568 comments LoL Ellen, as junior score keeper to Anita I just messaged her the same question!

I have the same problem with 2 other monthly challenges....books I don't own and don't want to own, none are new books -- all are older -- and dang if several someones haven't put holds on them!

message 309: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 3510 comments I will move anarresa to her #50: In My Dreams I Hold A Knife. It sounds like a nice, creepy mystery to me.

@Robin and @Joanne — For this game you can always use your swaps! I might need some swaps to finish up the multiple book tasks in the seasonal challenge. I had this library problem with my first list, so in the second round I picked mostly books I own. I maxed out my library hold lists with the others. I might use only 25 books next time to eliminate the need for juggling library books.

Joanne, If you can use ebooks or audios, check hoopla.

I know. I’m still on the hold list for the book I had to swap out in my clerk list. So many books…

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8412 comments Well, I finished the book I "borrowed" from Theresa's list and posted that review, so I am officially out of the baggage car and into Second Class. I hope you enjoyed my version of So Long, Farewell from The Sound of Music as I departed the Baggage Car.

It was delightful and put a smile on my face as I started the first of the 2 books I have to read to get into second Class Lounge.

Enjoy the break before you start reading for your next level! The Caboose Cabanna Boys are eagerly awaiting your arrival and it looks like you have your pick of chaises and comfy nooks with pillows and blankets. Bar and buffet are freshly stocked! Might be a good time to stick a few chunksters into the first 15 slots of your updated list!

Amy | 12913 comments Toot, toot!! I have an announcement. I have landed in Mexico, and I have finished my book!

Anita - I will be needing another roll please!

Tessa and Joanne, alert the fire-fighters and prepare me a stiff drink! Gnarly…. I am gone! Pass me the lint brush, and let me get used to my new cat-free surroundings! She’s gone!

AH, KateNZ! Back you go!

At least Olivermagnus is getting a break. Seems to me she had all the derailments ( OM's term) in her Clerk round.

But it isn't too bad as you had that Bullet Train ride earlier this week.

Now we can all settle down and get back to our reading and reviewing. The various cabanna boys, CGI Tom, Firefighters, cafe attendants, parlor steward and the butler will soon be making rounds in their respective cars delivering fresh boxed lunches and beverage refills for all, and helping the new artivals settle into their cars.

Since you can't carry them over into the next round (you just start with 2 new swaps), might as well. I just did that to read a book I was dying to fit into February. I can read the original I had in a future round.

message 343: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12913 comments My next book sitting pretty at number 42 is instructions for dancing by Nicola Yoon. I have heard good things about this. Which is how it ended up on my list. Pretty much everything on that list of 100 is under 320 pages and many of them are under 300. Most of them sit right around that. But I’m pretty sure instructions for dancing is also a shorter quickie. It has already been ordered at the library, ready for one. I have to someday leave this paradise.

message 344: by Theresa (new)

Theresa | 15510 comments @Amy - you are already in the Second Class Lounge since you posted the review of your final Baggage Car read. When you need a break from the sun and fun while waiting for it from the library -- or if you just need a quiet reading space -- just pop right in.

BTW -- Gnarly is missing .... it's his turn in the ongoing board games ... Amy! Did you sneak Gnarly out with you when you left????

I was shocked that I dodged that bullet today. I'm sorry Kate......

I'm back on dry land today. I guess that means I'm going to have to make my own bed and pick up my towels instead of just having them magically replaced when I throw them on the floor!
