Silence or some backgound sounds while reading?

I like any kind of background noise, T.V , music, anything. if its to quite my brain starts to wonder about all kinds of stuff , and I can't concentrate on my book. sounds weird , but its true.
I guess it's never really "silent" since there's typically a pug or two snoring in the background, but I don't have the TV on (I don't actually have a TV) or listen to music when I read.
I prefer silence. I get in a bunch of reading during commercial breaks on the TV with the sound muted.
I like listening to music with lyrics but can’t read when watching TV. I like listening to music because afterwards I associate a song/album with the book I read while I was listening to it and I think of the book when I listen to the song.
I listen to orange noise while I'm reading. I find it soothing and it helps me block out other noises
I'm fine with people's voices on radio or TV in the background but music puts me off completely. I don't know if it's something about the rhythm of the music interfering with the rhythm of the words in my head but I loose concentration very quickly. Perhaps I just switch off when people are talking. A terrible personality defect, I know. I'm too old to change though.
I prefer silence or at most, environmental sounds: air conditioner/fridge running, birds chirping, wind blowing. If I had pets, their noises would be fine too.

I'm curious to know, do you prefer complete silence or background sounds while reading? Personally, I used to be someone who preferred complete silence but lately, I've been experimenting with adding background sounds to my reading routine. I find that it helps me avoid distractions from sounds in my surroundings and really allows me to get into the story. I listen to a channel called Relaxing Ambience Sounds & White Noise, and a recent video I've been enjoying is the rain in the forest (https://youtu.be/7DJI1NDWz_k).
Do any of you have a favorite channel or specific sound that you like to listen to while reading? I'd love to know and expand my options.
