I think a more accurate title for this book would have been The Educated Guess or Science Says: All Signs Point to Yes. We were due for a pandemic.
I thought this book was pretty interesting. It started with GW Bush thinking a pandemic response plan would be a pretty good idea, and all the ways it got pushed to the side until the pandemic was here. There were also some interesting stories about the people who were key in the pandemic but lesser known.
I actually learned quite it a bit - about illnesses and about politics, and and was reminded again how dysfunctional the US medical system and the US political system both are.
