Abi North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell is a good one and not very well-known! If you love Jane Austen, it's been described as "pride and prejudice for socialists" lol, it's one of my faves.

My fave children's classic is A Little Princess.

I love a lot of the famous gothic horrors, including Frankenstein and Dracula. Frankenstein was written by 19-year-old Mary Shelley and is probably one of my all-time favourites. I want to read Carmilla, which is essentially WLW Dracula and pre-dates it, and it's supposed to be good!

Hopefully, I've included some ones you haven't heard of.

Stella 🍉 | 83 comments I LOVE “The Awakening” by Kate Chopin. It’s one of the earliest pieces of Western Feminist literature. It can be kind of confusing, but it’s so worth it.
“Anna Karenina” is also great.

OscarDuelsWallpaper | 217 comments If you haven't read The Picture of Dorian Gray...where have you been????

It is one of my top 5 books of all time. MY USERNAME IS LITERALLY BASED OFF OF OSCAR WILDE'S SUPPOSED LAST WORDS I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Wilde has good poetry too, and while its a little confusing, its different and i like it for that.
