Hi! I think someone's still marking them as "Not a Book" and not all caps "NOT A BOOK." Can you perhaps edit your first comment and add an instruction and/or when posting author names, we should all say something like "please change the author name to "NOT A BOOK" in all capital letters to mark them as invalid"?

Good idea. I edited the instructions in the first post.
@all: Please make sure to use capital letters in NOT A BOOK, otherwise it won't work and all the work will be for nothing.

Please change the author name to "NOT A BOOK" in all capital letters to mark them as invalid. (The name MUST be in all-caps otherwise it won't work!)

These ones need a bit of effort as they are legitimate authors. You need to remove their real works first from the list by adding a space between the first name and surname before NABing the rest. Or alternatively, if there aren't that many legit works, you can open them in different tabs, NAB the entire list, then edit the author's name back to the books perhaps?

It's explained in post #2 of this topic:

If the entire "author's" oeuvre is invalid, the author name can be changed to "NOT A BOOK", which will bulk change all the works to invalid status. "

You can try again after a while, then the limit is gone. Most of the time you don't have to wait a whole day. (Except for today, it hasn't work for me the whole day. I don't know why).
If a Coloring Book is included, then I recommend changing the author name of the specific book by making two spaces between the first and last name. Otherwise, there's a good chance the book will be NAB'd by the Librarians.

Apparently, notebooks with stolen book cover art is a thing, and people mistake them as the actual book and are leaving reviews.

Before I do anything, I somehow want to transfer those star ratings and reviews people left to the actual books where they belong. So, how about change the author name, combine them with other editions, then flag or report. What do you think?

I don't think that's necessary. I would report the editions to a super librarian, they can delete editions with many reviews and the reviews are then moved to another edition. And I would mention that it is copyright infringement, so they can pass it on to support, since that is another issue. Even though it probably won't do any difference, the Amazon bots have destroyed the whole database anyway.

Since 3000 edits per day is really not enough to deal with this issue, I contacted support if they can lift the restriction, and here is their reply. (They've already NABed a good chunk of authors I listed in this thread.)We do not expect Librarians to bulk update these one by one to "invalid" due to the number of edits they have as a limit being at that current amount. In relation to the limit being increased, this is not an option at the moment and it will stay at the current limit for Librarian edits.
Librarians are welcome to report the specific Authors of these blank notebooks in order for us to clean them up on the backend. We've already bulk updated over 80K and added logic so that Authors with the name 'notebook' will be set to 'Deleted' on import.
We've noted the amount of Authors to be deleted in the thread and have requested this to be removed with our bulk removal tool.

I've been annoyed with notebooks and journals dominating the search result, and until I found this thread I had no idea that there is something you can do about them. So thank you, paperlove, for tackling the problem in the first place!
