You know, I really struggled with Claire. She has some very judgmental thoughts throughout this whole book and so many of them are aimed at Isaac. So he broke her heart 10 years prior, that's sad. However, it's been TEN years! That is so much time for him to grow up, and I think she held his sins of youth against him for too long.
I loved Isaac. I don't know what he could have done differently, to be honest.

I struggled with her, too. Her hurt was understandable but after ten years and another successful relationship, I figured she'd be able to look at Isaac with fresh eyes.
I'm with you...I really liked Isaac. And, this was a really small town where everyone knew each other's business. How could she not know he was a different man?

I felt everyone was so judgemental of Isaac and thought Claire should know better. Through the whole novel I found her hard to like completely to be honest.
Same here. Isaac kept proving himself repeatedly and it still wasn't enough. That didn't seem realistic to me.
She was a bit mean to him (saying he was just a booty call) about the same thing she didn't like him or others to think about her.

I found her hard to like as well. And she would say very hurtful things. I'm sorry he hurt her years before, but she needed to get over it. Sure, give him a run for his money at first, he deserved a little of that. But come on, time to forgive and move on.
