I'm going to start this soon, and I'll post after the first 10 chapters.

I've read the first 10 chapters so far, and this is a quick read. It has fairly short chapters, which makes it feel even quicker. I'm liking this so far.

Naila's parents (view spoiler)[I am not a fan of them because they seem overly controlling of Naila's life. I feel like they really overreacted to her dating, and it wasn't even like the boy she was dating wasn't Pakistani, since he was. And they made her miss her graduation so they could get the family to Pakistan quickly, which seems a bit extreme. (hide spoiler)]

Saif (view spoiler)[We didn't get to see much of Naila's relationship with him, but he seems like a good and sweet guy who really does care about Naila. (hide spoiler)]

Imran (view spoiler)[I like Naila's brother, and how he cares about Naila and feels bad about accidentally getting her in trouble. And I liked how he let her contact Saif with his phone, since he understood that she would want to do that, and he wanted to help her. (hide spoiler)]

Progress reports are due today so my eyes are crossing! Up till after 2:00 last night and still have about 10 students to grade! I have two hours left. Lol

Now I've read through chapter 20. This book is really good so far.

Naila's parents (view spoiler)[It's awful that they took her to Pakistan to find a husband for her and that they still won't even tell her that. And now they're basically overriding all her plans for college. It's horrible that they are being that controlling of her life. I mean, she is their daughter, but this amount of control over her is extreme. (hide spoiler)]

Selma (view spoiler)[I'm glad she ended up telling Naila about the reason they are really in Pakistan, even though she didn't tell her right away. (hide spoiler)]

I've now read through chapter 30. I really like this book.

Naila (view spoiler)[What has been done to her is awful. They drugged her to make her confused, and then they forced her to go to her wedding, and made her hand sign the wedding papers with her name, even though she herself was unwilling to sign them. (hide spoiler)]

Naila's family (view spoiler)[The parents and the aunt and uncle as well are awful. The uncle came and dragged her from the bus, and then her dad took the one thing that kept her in contact with Saif. (hide spoiler)]

Now I've read through chapter 40. This book is making me angry, but that's a good thing, since it's meant to do that.

Amin (view spoiler)[I thought he was a pretty good guy until he went and raped Naila. I don't understand why he kept apologizing for that and saying that he didn't have no choice. (hide spoiler)]

Naila (view spoiler)[I feel so bad for her and for all the awful things that she has endured. I hope she gets out of this horrible situation soon. (hide spoiler)]

Nasim (view spoiler)[I do not like her. She seems to have all these expectations for Naila, and she doesn't treat Naila well at all. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished this book, and I really loved it. It is such a powerful and emotional book.

Saba (view spoiler)[What she did was awful. She told rumors about Naila that caused her to be kicked out of the house. I don't know why she had such a problem with Naila from the beginning of them meeting each other. (hide spoiler)]

Amin (view spoiler)[I'm glad he did the right thing and let Naila leave, even though he didn't do it earlier when he first found out that the marriage was forced, which he should have. (hide spoiler)]

Saif (view spoiler)[He obviously really cared about Naila, since he came across the world for her, and didn't give up on her. (hide spoiler)]
