I do not own an ice cream freezer, but before I was finished with this book I was shopping for one. Hello, My Name Is Ice Cream: The Art and Science of the Scoop: A Cookbook gives you a very good explanation of why ice cream is ice cream and how to make it. Recipes vary from simple vanilla or chocolate, to the very interesting choices of Popcorn Ice Cream and Pineapple Jasmine Sherbert. I am definitely intrigued.

Sounds good. I do have an ice cream freezer which I use several times a year.

Homemade ice cream is always so good.

The Perfect Scoop: Ice Creams, Sorbets, Granitas, and Sweet Accompaniments is the book I use most often.

I am sure I would have given the book more stars if I could have tried some of the recipes.

What kind of freezer do you have?

A Cuisinart. It wasn't expensive and I've had it several years. For as much as I use it isa good machine.
