I’m about 3 chapters in…ended up taking my daughter to the hospital today so I’m behind. Will check in tomorrow.

She's doing better...spent the night in the ER and moved to ICU bed this morning. She's going to be fine...she's pretty much stable and just need to eat and sleep...sleeping is very hard to do in a hospital :(
So I just finished Chapter 5. I like it so far...the pace especially.
I find myself wondering if there is going to be a love triangle thing with Adam and Samuel?? Samuel is mated...sooo this could be interesting. Am I reading this right...Samuel is mated right?
Still haven't even guessed what's going on with these humans being involved...any thoughts?
I hope your daughter gets better soon. A sick child is the worst. I ended at chapter 7. Sorry, I couldn't stop reading. No Samuel is not mated. He had been married before but I'm not sure they were considered mates.
Mercy definitely has feelings for both of these guys and I have a feeling they aren't going to make choosing easy on her.
It sounds like the Humans are working with some werewolves but for what is anyone's guess.
I'm loving the characters so far and the world of supernaturals that is being built.
I am only on ch.2 :( But that's just because I haven't taken the time to read! UGH! I better get going!!
Thanks JL...She went home today. Now she needs to rest! I'll be dog sitting for a few days to give her some time to recover...love having my 'dog time' :)

I really do like this book...the pace is excellent.
I just finished chapter 5. I really like it so far! There is enough explanation of the different creatures, but not too much. I’ve not read a book with werewolves and skin walkers and far before now. I am curious about whether Adam will make it or not.
I finished ch 10 yesterday...am going to wait for you both to catch up. Looking at Feb challenges, I've decided I want to hold off finishing until 2/1 anyway. It's going to work for several non-UNO challenges :)

I’ve got Turf Wars going on now and I’ll be starting 6 new individual challenges that mostly go by finish dates starting tomorrow…I’m a mod with AMMP…mostly those challenges.

A lot packed into 5 chapters. There is definitely going to be a little love triangle between Adam, Mercy, and Sam. Old love vs. New. I already love Stephan but the rest of his Seeth(?) may bring future trouble.
I agree. I actually just finished, but I'll stick to chapter 10. I'm not seeing Mercy's interest in Adam - it seems like she's more interested in Sam? I like Zee - although I don't feel like I'm really getting to know him - but the fae seem interesting. Holy mansion of vampires.
I wonder about some of the things she seems to put in there - like the religious parts, or the part about Thompson - the Canadian mapper - it seems disjointed to me, but what do you all think?
I'm almost done too...will finish this tomorrow early so I can start on my UNO books. I think Adam has a claim of some sort on her that she doesn't know about....hmmm

She does seem to be religious. I think it comes from her exposure as a child her guardian I think had a lot to do with it. The lamb around her neck did work on the master vampire. And what a creepo that lady is.
I need to re-read for the Canadian mapper...I must have glossed over that. Will check back tomorrow on an opinion on that.

Love Zee! It seems he and Mercy are close so I'm sure we'll get to know him more.

I just finished the part where everyone is rating out Jerry and they are off to find Adam and his daughter.
I noticed Sam's alarm when he found out Adam had a pic of Mercy in his bedroom...she wasn't aware either...told you...definitely something more to this!

I think the claim Adam put on Mercy was an actual claim not just to protect her. And just to say, I'm team Adam all the way!
I get Gerry. A parent would do anything for their child, but I know I would do anything for my parents so sentimentally, yes, but I don't know why he thought his dad, a year-old wolf would be able to challenge Bran who is hundreds of years old. He wasn't thinking with his head.

I agree...that was a weak part of the plot. I thought the whole witch thing was hard to follow as well...I think that's typical of 1st in a series books though.
