Tony was different from Adam's standard pickups. His promises and confidence threw Adam off his regular game. Adam could see a life with Tony that even Robin nor Jules could make him think possible. Adam's decision in the bar was a make-or-break moment for me. If he hooked up with someone for casual sex, I could never trust him. I expected he wouldn't walk away, so his decision worked for me. I anticipated that Tony would need to forgive him, and Brockman would need to convince me that he had changed later in the story.
I was surprised that Adam left the guy at the club. However, considering the fact that Brockmann was trying to rehabilitate his character, it makes sense to her logic even if it doesn't to mine.
I was shocked he didn’t go through with that assignation at the club. However, as I said earlier, Adam pretty much is an open wound. He’s spent so much time and energy trying to get Robin back or at least be a wedge between him and Jules only to walk away alone. I think he was lonely and Tony was kind of a hybrid of Robin. He was intrigued and…hopeful.
