kyla (kylaellaine) | 3 comments Hi! It's been a while since I last read and opened my Goodreads account (cringing hard on my past book reviews as a teenager lol). I just need some book recommendations to help me get started as this would be my first time immersing myself in the book community again! <3

I am currently looking for fantasy wlw ones. I tried looking at Goodreads' lists & on TikTok. However, seeing so many book titles I'm no longer familiar with has already started to overwhelm me.

Anyway, here are some fantasy series that I loved in my mid- to late-teens. I figured maybe I can start with books somehow similar to these?
- Caraval
- ACOTAR series
- Red Queen
- The Lunar Chronicles
- The Remnant Chronicles

None of these are sapphic because neither was I at the time LOLL

Jokes aside, even just 2-3 book recommendations would be more than great!! Would appreciate anyone's help & recs a lot! <3

P.S. I already ordered "Crier's War" as a starter because that one I'm certain I would love!! :> Will update once I receive & read it already!

ReadingMermaid | 26 comments Cinderella is Dead is probably the most similar to the Lunar Chronicles, it's a fantasy Cinderella retelling. I think some other sapphic books kind of in same vein might be Gearbreakers (sci-fi), This is How You Lose The Time War (sci-fi), or even The Priory of the Orange Tree (high fantasy). Hope one of these helps, I personally enjoyed all of these books.

roma (parrishe) | 9 comments I'd recommend in the vanisher's palace since you seem to like fairytale retellings and the ascent to godhood by neon yang, it's a sapphic villain romance

I'm glad you enjoyed these books! I'm most intrigued by This is How You Lose The Time War and Gearbreakers. I just checked the latter's blurb and it says it's perfect for fans of Marie Lu's Legend series which I forgot to mention I loved as well---made me have high hopes for this one now, I might order it ASAP haha. Thanks for the recommendation, by the way, I appreciate it a lot!

Aha! I didn't even realize it but I guess I do like fairytale retellings a lot! I'm not familiar with either book so I had to check them out, and... The Ascent to Godhood's blurb is *chef's kiss* plus the cover! Added to my 2023 TBR! Thank you so much for the recs! :>
