They do all that. Happened to my book too. It is all just a way to sell. Mine was, and still is at times, listed at crazy prices. IDK. the "used book" can help their sales with those who don't want to pay full price. Even thought you know there is no way they have a used copy of your book. Also, it is doubtful "they" really bought your book but are ready to order it through Amazon if anyone has money to burn and choose to buy it through them. But let's hope many do purchase your book and read it! Good luck!
While it would have been nice to have been a genuine sale, I'd bet serious money that it was that company. It's the only paperback I've sold since publishing just over a month ago!
Good question. Don't have an answer. One of my books was briefly listed at $10,000! (Actually, $9,999). But no harm done, as far as I can see.

-within a couple hours, Amazon showed my book available as new and used via another company
-the company has listed both for ridiculous amounts
-the "used" copy isn't even in their hands yet; it's obviously a bogus listing
My question: what the Hades is going on, and should I just ignore it, since no one would pay such a ridiculous price for a book? I recall seeing another book with a similarly outlandish offering. What's the deal with a scheme like this? Obviously, they can't expect to make any money.
