Maggie | 57 comments Book 45: The White City (True Colors) by Grace Hitchcock
Category: Gilded Age America
Completed: September 7
Thoughts: Since this featured the real-life serial killer, H.H. Holmes, I wondered how this could possibly end. However, the author handled it satisfactorily.

Maggie | 57 comments Book 45: The Key to Deceit (Electra McDonnell, #2) by Ashley Weaver
Category: Early 20th Century
Completed: November 3
Thoughts: This is the second in a series I plan to continue. I like the feisty main character, a female safecracker, who is now helping military intelligence win the war. There is quite the assortment of other characters too! The book takes place in 1940 England, just as the Blitz begins.

Maggie | 57 comments I am ending this challenge at Level 3: Doctor of History. I only lacked three categories making it to History with Honors, however I just couldn't seem to find a 19th Century Europe book that I could stick with. So, I just let it go! However, I really liked stretching into some new settings throughout the year.
