I recently found 2 of my own eBooks for sale on a couple of sites I have never offered my work to. I've messaged them, but no response as yet.
I've become suspicious of reviewers online lately that have offered to read & review my books. One on Good reads. I send them a PDF and that's the last I hear, even though I send a follow up email 2 months after. It's very concerning. I'm in the UK & copyright laws are different to the US. I don't have money for lawsuits. Thanks for the link to the article.

M.S.
Yes, concerning is a good word.
Also a resident of the UK, I get ya. This type of problem I believe can be stamped out if all authors stand together and make it clear we will not tolerate this. As I understand it, copyrighted material, regardless of the country, can be removed.
Book reviewers are another issue all by them self's. I don't believe in paid reviews, a book review should be from a customer who has actually bought the book and read it.

Ideally, yes. But customers are rarely attracted by a book with zero reviews. Finding reliable reviewers is a difficult & risky business, especially in this day & age of 'believe nothing, trust no-one.'
Bogus book sites selling stolen works crop up out of nowhere, so doing a regular search for your own book online can be helpful. When these sites are registered in a different country, getting those listings taken down can be a complicated & expensive affair, copyright registered or not.
It's a scam site, they upload your work and give it away for free!!!!
Ever wondered why your sales have dropped, or are none at all?
Sites like this could be one of the reasons.
As authors we need to make a stand to have these sites removed.
here is a very helpful article I found: https://search.copyright.gov/search?a...
