Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I am listening to the 7th book in the Brunetti series. I still have three left to go to finish this 32 book series. #11, 20, and 27. They are all on hold at my library.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished A Noble Radiance. Three books left to go. I will have to wait to see what comes off of hold first.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Book #27 show up in my library notices last night. I am going to use it for the Puzzle 2 Task 1 book (21st century) for my yearly challenge.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished The Temptation of Forgiveness yesterday. I need to update my list and report it on my yearly challenge thread. A very interesting story, convoluted and a surprise ending. I really love these characters.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I had to go back several years to see where I killed off the Stoker & Holmes series at book #3. It was in 2016. I have had the subsequent two books in my Nook library waiting to be read.
The Carnelian Crow was published in 2017 and The Zeppelin Deception in 2019. They will both be orphan reads. I am just starting The Carnelian Crow for Puzzle 2, task 1. As of today, the rating is 4.23. It has been w-a-y too long to dredge up what happened in the last book. Hopefully some things will come back as I go along. It is 1889 in London and this is a YA, Steampunk series.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I am listening to #11, Willful Behavior. This one has a different narrator than all of the others. Steven Crossley.
David Colacci is the narrator for all of the other books in the series.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Yes, Jannene - I have been. :o)

I am going to be on vacation next week and plan to finally listen to the last Outlander book. I have been saving it in my Audible library for quite a while.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments According to the list on GR, I have finished all 32 books in the Commisserio Brunitte series. Finally! I will miss David Colacci's voice.

I enjoyed The Carnelian Crow, the 4th book in the Stoker & Holmes series. It was an orphan read and I have started the 5th book, The Zeppelin Deception.

I finished the 9th Outlander audio book, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. Whew, it was long, but so good! - another orphan read done.

I would not have even started that series.

The stories are really good, Jannene. I did them all in audiobook.

Way to go, Cherie!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Thanks, Kristie. It is a long series but my library had them all in audiobook and ebook and at the start, I think I was the only one accessing them. The later ones, I had to wait for.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I just downloaded Greenwitch the third book in The Dark is Rising Sequence series (5 books) by Susan Cooper. I have re-listened to the first two book in my Audible account. I remember looking for the other books in the series but could not find the other stories. It seems that they are available from my library now, both in ebook and audiobook. Alex Jennings is the narrator. I don’t know if I ever had them on my series list.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished Greenwitch and I am now listening to The Grey King. I think there is one more book after this. I am not going to add the series to my started this year list - only that I will have killed it off, when I do. The first two books, my daughter bought for her youngest son, but he did not like them. They are really aimed at YA, but it would take a very mature YA to like them, I think. They are aimed at the Authorian legend, but more on Celtic history in England more. They move around a lot, and the audiobooks are not an easy listen. The fourth book takes place in Wales. There was a new narrator too, Richard Mitchley. I guess Alex Jennings wasn't up for the Welsh. :o)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finally got Bruno, Chief of Police from my library but I did not like it and sent it back. I cannot get used to someone else named Bruno after just finishing all of the Comisario Brunetti books. ;o(

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished The Grey King this morning and have book #5 on hold.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I listened to and read the Detective Harriet Blue series over the long Thanksgiving weekend and killed it off!

Black & Blue
Never Never
Fifty Fifty
Liar Liar
Hush

Interesting series with not many very likable characters.
Set in Sydney, Australia. The first duplicated title was for my yearly challenge, but they were all available from my library.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments My list of series killed in 2022 shows that I declared The Great Library series by Rachel Caine killed on July 10th, but the 5th book in the series here on GR does not show Sword and Pen as read. If it is available from my library, I might check it out for the toppler. I have several other books to look for and hopefully download.

message 72: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished reading The Dark is Rising #5Silver on the Tree after I returned the audiobook and before I ran down the rabbit hole with Harriet Blue.

The Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper is KILLED!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished reading Hercule Poirot's Christmas yesterday. I had absolutely no idea who did it, nor how!
I have a paper list from a paperback with a list of all of the HP novels. It lists 37 titles and I have 12 checked off. My list shows 14 books read. Hmmm. I need to figure this out. I think I saw a list in the back of the Christmas book. I need to check this against the paper list and see where my count is off in my GR count. Grrrr.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments My 2023 wrap:

7 series declared killed
4 new series added
5 orphan books read (additional books from series perviously declared killed)

Now, to move over to a 2024 title..... ;o)

That's a net decrease in series! Nice job.
