Has anyone here read the selection? What is the dystopian characteristics

Yah! I really liked it when I was younger but haven’t read it in years. From what I remember, it’s a future America where there is a royal family instead of a democratic government. There is a selection held to find the next heir’s wife- hence the name The Selection.
